Cancellation Fees and Policies
To compensate our providers for their time and fuel, LawnGuru may apply a cancellation fee if a service is cancelled after a provider has already committed to the job or arrived at your property.
Cancellation Fees
The fee amount depends on the provider's progress at the time of cancellation:
Provider en route: A $5.00 fee is charged if you cancel after a provider has started driving to your property.
Provider on-site: A $10.00 fee is charged if you cancel after the provider has already arrived at your location.
Special Services: For special service requests (such as yard cleanup, weeding, trimming, etc.), a $25.00 fee may be assessed if the service is cancelled without sufficient notice.
Provider-initiated cancellations
If a provider arrives but determines the property is unsuitable for service, a $10.00 fee is charged. This covers the provider's trip cost when they are unable to work due to site conditions. Common reasons for these fees include:
Access issues: Locked gates or vehicles blocking the service area.
Property hazards: Unsecured pets, excessive pet waste, or debris (such as glass or trash) littering the lawn.
Environmental factors: Active sprinkler systems or grass that is too short/burnt out to mow without causing damage.
Job scope issues: Excessive overgrowth or a property that was significantly "Poorly Marked" during the booking process.
How to avoid fees
To ensure a smooth service and avoid unnecessary charges, please make sure your property is ready for service on your scheduled date. This includes picking up toys and debris, unlocking gates, and securing pets. If you need to skip or cancel a service, please submit your request before the provider marks themselves as on the way. It is recommended to cancel at least one day in advance.
