How do I pay for service?

To make your experience as seamless as possible, all payments on LawnGuru are handled securely through the app. This eliminates the need for cash, checks, or manual invoicing.

Setting up your payment method

When you create your account, you will be prompted to enter a valid Credit or Debit card. You can store multiple cards on your account and choose which one to use for specific properties or services.

Selecting a card for service

If you have more than one card on file, you can choose your preferred payment method during the checkout process:

  1. At the service confirmation screen, tap the Payment Method section.

  2. Select an existing card from your list or tap Add New Card.

  3. Confirm your selection before submitting the request.

Payment verification and processing

Our system uses a "Pre-Authorization" process to ensure providers are paid promptly for their work:

  • The "On My Way" Ping: When your provider marks themselves as "En Route" to your property, our system sends a temporary verification ping to your bank to confirm the card is valid and has sufficient funds.

  • Validation Issues: If the card on file is declined or invalid at this stage, the job will be automatically canceled to protect the provider's time.

  • Final Payment: Once the provider marks the job as complete and uploads a photo receipt, the final payment is processed and withdrawn from your account.

Important payment tips

  • No Automatic Backup: If the card assigned to a service fails, our system will not automatically attempt to charge other cards on your account. You must ensure the correct card is assigned to each active service.

  • Keep Information Current: If your card expires or you receive a new one, please update your payment settings in the Account tab to avoid service interruptions.
