Tax Information
Reporting taxes as a LawnGuru provider can be pretty simple. Keep in mind that the following is not tax advice. You should always report earnings according to tax laws. If you have questions about how to file that are specific to your tax situation, we strongly suggest speaking with a tax professional.
Note: All providers are users of the LawnGuru platform. No matter the type of income you’re reporting, you are not considered an employee of LawnGuru. As such, you are not required to provide LawnGuru's EIN (Employer Identification Number) on your tax return.
When will I receive my end of year tax information?
All providers will receive tax information postmarked by Jan. 31, of the New Year.
Will I get a 1099 from LawnGuru?
It depends on a few factors:
- Form 1099-K: Providers who completed at least $20,000 in gross billings and completed 200 or more jobs in a given tax year will receive a Form 1099-K.
If your company did not complete $20,000 in gross billings and 200 or more jobs, you will not receive any kind of 1099 from LawnGuru.
If you're expecting to receive a 1099-K, here's how it breaks down Box by Box.
Note: If you receive a 1099-K from LawnGuru, the dollar amount you see in Box 1 consists of the total gross billings from all jobs you completed for said year. Please note that this gross amount includes the LawnGuru Fee, so it will be a larger number than what was transferred to your bank account. Form 1099-K does not provide a separate box for LawnGuru to report the total commissions deposited to your bank. We do provide that information in the Job History screen of the LawnGuru app. Additionally, you can request that we send you a complete export of all bank transfers. Please email support@lawnguru.co if you would like a complete export. Be sure to include the Year in which you'd like the export of.
