2020 On Snow Removal Standards
We've updated our standards for snow service for winter 2020-2021 and beyond. Make sure you've read these, you'll be responsible for completing each on every snow job you accept.
Every Snow Service:
- Clear snow from the driveway and/or sidewalks as requested
- Clear walkway to the front door
Optional Customer Purchases:
- Additional walkway areas marked for clearing
- Salting all cleared surfaces
We raised prices this year for all new AutoPlow customers and all on-demand orders to ensure the customer gets a better service experience and you're compensated for this higher standard. This is why every job now includes clearing the walkway to the front door and pro takes will be higher, even for driveway only jobs, by at least $4 compared to bookings from last year.
Be sure to check the checklist of items to complete for each of your snow removal jobs, AutoPlow orders may be updated to include or exclude certain options, so don't rely on your memory! Always make sure the service ordered matches the service delivered.
1 When can I get started on my jobs?
As a provider, it is your responsibility to determine the appropriate time to dispatch crews to your customers’ properties. Orders are to be completed within 6-hours of the storm ending.
If the bulk of a storm has passed, but there is still a little bit of snow falling, you can still begin your jobs.
There are two exceptions to this rule of thumb:
- Your customer requests something specific that you can accommodate (ie: "come before the storm ends so I can go to work")
- The AutoPlow activation specifies this is for service ASAP and there will be another activation for the end of the storm.
2 What do I do if cars are in the driveway or I show up and the job is already done?
Depending on the time you arrive to clear a driveway, customers may not be in the position to move their vehicles for you. Please do your best to clear around them and avoid extra snow build up. Nothing is worse than going out to your car and being snowed in!
3 Why did a job disappear from my board?
A job will disappear from your board if the customer cancels their order, or if you tap/swipe "Go To Job" and the customer's payment is declined. If a card has been declined, the job will be canceled and the customer will be notified that they need to update payment and re-request. You may accept the job when it becomes available on the job board again.
4 Am I allowed to clear snow during the middle of the night? I’m worried about the noise.
Yes, you may clear snow whenever the weather permits. If the customer ordered clearing, you may clear snow after the storm concludes unless the customer specifies differently. The nature of your work can be noisy and customers already agreed to these terms before placing their order.
5 The address in the app is not the same address that’s marked out. What do I do?
You should always service the property that matches the address listed in the app. Once the job is complete, be sure to contact LawnGuru Provider Support to have the correct property marked out for future services.
